If a group of VT students in NOVA did the same would they also be suspended? (That is, if the local cops reported it to VT somehow?)

I kinda get that the VT cops are just a branch of the Blacksburg cops and of course have a long history of town-and-gown problems so yeah there are agreements in place that butt up against questions of jurisdiction. And I suppose, "if" the cops charged them (or cited, whatever) that's no different than suspending someone for say marijuana use.

And I guess, somewhere in there in our contract with the school we signed something somewhere that we won't go afoul of the law? What if I got a reckless speeding ticket on 81, would VT be able to suspend me for that?
